Sports Injuries

What is Sports Physiotherapy?

Sports physiotherapy is a specialized branch of Physiotherapy that deals with the performance and injuries of those involved in sports. Sports physiotherapists help athletes reduce the risk of injury by training them to use the body correctly before injury and ensure optimal recovery after injury

What does Sports Physiotherapy include?

When you apply to our center, after listening to your detailed story, we first evaluate your pre-injury sportive activity level, muscular strength, joint, functional status and movements in order to understand your existing complaint and its effects. Our primary goal is to support you in protecting you from injury throughout your sports life.   For this, we evaluate your musculoskeletal system and functional level and determine a preventive rehabilitation program suitable for your sports branch and your expectations. Following the evaluation, we plan your specific treatment program to return you to the days when you do not feel pain and limitation, but more importantly, to return to your sports life in a better and healthier way than your pre-injury condition. We are here to reduce/treat your pain, improve your movement, increase your strength and function with our special treatment methods.

How Long Does Sports Rehabilitation Take?

The treatment program specific to Sports Rehabilitation is determined according to the clinical condition of the person, the results of the evaluation, the surgical method if person has had surgery, the severity of the injury or problem, the expectation of the person, and the feedback from the current treatment methods. Therefore, the content and duration of treatment varies from patient to patient. We  will decide together the most suitable treatment for you.

Treatment Methods

Treatments are supported by therapeutic exercises following the application of manual therapy (Passive methods such as Mulligan Concept, Fascial Distortion Model, Graston Technique, Kaltenborn, Maitland, Cyriax, active methods such as Pilates, PNF and Kinetic Control, manipulation, mobilization, postisometric relaxation techniques and clinical kinesio taping) techniques.
